Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Upper-air disturbances are bringing showers and thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea. Locally, around 30 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places in the past couple of hours.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Mainly cloudy with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms. Moderate southerly winds.


Outlook : The weather will still be unsettled in the next couple of days. Showers will ease off gradually and the weather will improve on Friday and over the weekend.

General Situation:

Under the influence of upper-air disturbances, the weather will be unsettled with showers and thunderstorms over southern China in the next couple of days. With the upper-air disturbances departing and the anticyclone aloft over the northern part of the South China Sea strengthening, showers will ease off gradually over the coast of southern China towards the weekend to early next week. The weather will improve and it will be persistently hot.
