Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.
An active southwest monsoon is bringing showers and thunderstorms to the coast of southern China and the northern part of the South China Sea. Locally, more than 10 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places in the New Territories in the past couple of hours.
Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight
Mainly cloudy with a few showers. Showers will be heavier in some areas with a few squally thunderstorms at first. Sunny intervals in the afternoon. Moderate southwesterly winds.
Outlook : Sunny periods in the next few days. There will also be one or two showers. It will be very hot during the day.

General Situation:
With an anticyclone aloft strengthening gradually, the weather will improve over the coast of Guangdong, and it will be very hot during the day in the next few days. Meanwhile, under the influence of a southwesterly airstream, there will still be a few showers over the region. The anticyclone aloft is expected to weaken in the latter part of next week. A broad area of low pressure will develop gradually over the seas east of the Philippines and bring unsettled weather to the region.
